Service Lines (Your Power Supply)
Your service line is the power line that connects your house to Westpower’s network.
This could be an overhead line that runs from a power pole on the street to your meter box or an underground cable.
The point at which the responsibility is passed from line owner to property owner is the physical point at which a service line enters a property.
The property owner is responsible for managing trees in close proximity to their service line where the service line has a voltage of 400 V or less. Therefore, tree(s) near service lines are not eligible for a free trim.
You can contact Westpower to either temporarily disconnect your power (this is a free service) if you have arranged for a suitable contractor to carry out trimming or removal work near your service line.
